Firstly, the clothing that is being worn is fairly plain which adds to the realism that they are in a normal house and have no idea on what is going to occur.
The dark lighting adds the effect that it's a horror movie since most horror movies try to be dark so that it can add more tension since the viewers has no idea on what could happen next due to the lack of visibility. It also adds an effect of realism as the characters may also see as they too could have a lack of visibility on the house. Moreover, you can see that the location is in a sort of house which adds to the normal location of "a haunted house" which is where most of the creepy things in a horror movie happen.
From the institutional logo of the Conjuring, you can instantly tell that it's a horror movie. Firstly, I can see that there is a rope hanging from a tree which connotes murder and along with the fog that is around that tree, I can instantly tell that this murder will occur through mysterious ways which can tell me that the theme of the film will be horror.
Also, as the tree is slanted I can tell that the film will be creepy because it can give an effect that things are not normal which connotes that once again, the movie will have some unnatural things happening which can lead to the scare of many audiences.
Finally, the house towards the end of the institutional logo connotes that this will be the setting which the film will be set it.
In the title sequence, the typography is quite simple as it doesn't contain a special type of font. This connotes that the film could be quite simple and contains simple horror which can be effective since it can create a more sinister environment.
Also, some of the transactions occur that the name is displayed, the screen goes black and then the next family is displayed. This can be done to show that the family has been erased (killed) and the next family that shows up can be the next victims.
By creating this timeline, I now have a broader knowledge on where I should place my credits so that the viewer will take in more knowledge about the importance of who created the film, for example it would be a good idea to put the producer at the end.
