Art of the Title Format for The Conjuring

The director of 'The Conjuring' is James Wan is a well known director, mostly known for his participation in The Conjuring, Insidious, Insidious Chapter 2, and also he helped in the making of Furious 7 which shows that the expectations for this movie are greatly high due to his previous work is high-quality. The director comes on after the main protagonists, at 00:21 which reflects that the director has the same importance as the protagonists especially since he was the one that created the movie. Also, the independence of his name in the title sequence shows that he is important since when a viewer watches this, they will only take in his name.

The producers are important for they are the ones who help in the main production of the film, and so their appearance at 00:29 shows their importance since the first people that are seen in the title sequences are usually the ones in whom the viewers should look at the most. Also, as all 3 of them were put at the same time it shows that they all equally had the same role of importance and so a viewer should memorise all 3.

The production designer is one of the most important roles in horror movies for they are the ones who have the ability to make the film scary. Julie Berghoff has experience in being the production designer for known movies, such as Saw, The Conjuring and Dead silence that suggests that she's experienced in horror and so a viewer will know from the start that her work on makeup and clothes will be of a high standard. The production designer appears at 00:44 which suggests that it may not be very important since it comes in the middle of the sequence, but they're also very important as they are the ones that can make a movie good.

This is the first character that appears in the opening sequence. This name appears at approximately 0:55 and as this is the first name that appears, it shows that this is the protagonist of the film as sequences usually create credits in order of importance; most important goes first. As a result, a viewer will know that he is the most important character and so they will be on the lookout for him.

The costume designer is the person that creates the costumes for the charaacters to wear. In a horror movie, the costume designer is very important for they are the ones that can drastically change the aspect of a person and can also change the opinion on a viewer towards a character. For example, in a horror movie, if a person is dressed up in quite ripped and poor clothes, it can be a hint that they are poor or that they are having trouble which can be an insinuation that they are the villain in the horror movie.

The music creator is also vitally important as they can set the tone for a scene, especially in a horror movie. For example, if there is a character stalking another character, the music creator can create a larger atmosphere by adding in music that can suit the scene, and thus adding more atmoshpere to it.

Towards the end of the sequence, there are credits which show the companies that helped towards the creation of the movie, and in this case the "Safran Company/Evergreen Media Group". They are put at the end since the last thing that you see is the thing that you remember and so, putting it at the end makes it so that the viewer can understand who helped to create the movie and so, this production gets more credit.

At the very end, the main producer, James Wan is shown. This is because the end is where the people will last see and so is the name
that they will mostly remember. Also, as the producer is at the end of the credits but also at the start it shows that he was the one that could have created the movie from start to end but the people in the middle are just his helpers.
